Greg King, CFA, Founder and CEO

Greg founded Osprey Funds in 2018, combining his transformative financial product experience and interest in crypto. Greg is also the Founder & CEO of REX Shares (since 2015). Previously, he Co-founded VelocityShares (2009), which was acquired by Janus in 2014. Greg is an innovator in the field, launching over 100 ETPs including the first ETPs tracking VIX, broad-based commodities, and FANG stocks.

Greg has held key positions at Barclays, Credit Suisse, and Global X Funds. He earned an MBA from University of California, Davis and is a CFA charterholder. He has been a bitcoin investor since 2013 and enjoys spending time on his hobby farm in Redding, CT.

Scott Acheychek, Managing Director, Head of Investor Relations

Scott joined Osprey in 2021 after holding senior sales and leadership positions at several large global investment banks. Scott covered hedge funds, asset managers, and financial advisors for multi-asset and commodity specific solutions. Since 2006, he has worked on the launch of over 50 ETNs and ETFs. Scott graduated from Sacred Heart University with a B.S. in Mathematics

Robert Rokose, CCO/CFO

Robert Rokose, CFO

Bob joined Osprey in 2020, bringing 28 years of accounting and financial reporting experience to the company.

Previously, he served as CFO and Managing Director at PIMCO/Allianz Funds, CFO of U.S. Funds at JP Morgan Asset Management, and Assistant Comptroller of Lexington Global.

Bob earned an M.B.A. from University of Connecticut and is a CPA Charterholder. He is an avid skier and lives in Ramsey, New Jersey with his wife and two kids.

Phil Pearlman, Chief Behavioral Officer and Head of Marketing

Phil Pearlman, CMO and Chief Behavioral Officer

Phil joined Osprey in 2020. Previously, he served as EVP Director of Marketing at Bank OZK, Executive Editor at Stocktwits, and Interactive Editor at Yahoo Finance.

He is an advisor to and investor in multiple fintech companies.

Phil earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Argosy University. He loves jazz music and walking.

Matt Mascera, Director of Operations

Matt Mascera, Director of Operations

Matt joined Osprey in 2020. Previously, he managed Operations and Trading at Seacliff Capital. Prior to that, he held senior positions at UBS, FBR & Co., and Charles Schwab. Matt has extensive transactional experience across multiple asset classes.

Matt earned a BSM in Finance from Tulane University. He sits on the Board of Directors of Share Hope Foundation. Matt is a foodie and lives in Westport, Connecticut with his family.

Ryan Ballantyne, Managing Director, Investor Relations

Ryan has over 25 years of financial industry experience, including six years with asset management firm Reality Shares, where he drove sales, distribution, investor relations and product development for their ETF suite. Previously, Ryan was a cash and derivatives sales trader with Susquehanna and Deutsche Bank. Ryan resides in CA with his wife and 5 children and is an avid surfer and mountain biker.

Ryan holds an undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University and an MBA in finance from San Diego State University.

Bill Birmingham, CFA, Head of Research

Bill is a Managing Director and the Head of Research for Osprey Funds.  Bill has twenty years of investment experience performing fundamental research, risk management, and portfolio building at a number of hedge funds, notably Carlson Capital, Impala Asset Management, and Xylem Global Partners.  

Bill is a CFA charterholder and has a B.A., cum laude, in Politics, Ethics, and Economics from the University Professors Program at Boston University. 

He holds a J.D. and LL.M in Taxation from Boston University School of Law.

Jack Drogin, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer

Jack is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, after serving as outside regulatory and trust counsel since 2018. His experience in over a decade at the SEC and two decades in private practice includes significant work in the structuring and listing of exchange-traded products, and the regulation of securities markets, broker-dealers and investment managers. 

Jack has extensive experience advising clients on digital currency and blockchain legal and regulatory matters including, in particular, the application of the federal  securities laws and FINRA rules to initial coin offerings, trading of digital assets, and related clearing and custody issues.

Jack began his career in the Banking Department of Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy in 1989.  From 1991-2001, he served in the SEC’s Division of Market Regulation (now Trading & Markets), rising to the position of Assistant Director, Market Supervision.  From July 2001 until joining Osprey, he was in private practice at Washington, DC law firms, including Morgan Lewis, Schiff Hardin, and Murphy & McGonigle.

Jack received his JD from Harvard Law School in 1989 and his BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985.

Shay Wadsworth, Senior Marketing Manager

Shay joined Osprey in 2021. Previously, she held marketing positions at Envestnet Financial Technologies and Transamerica. She has over eight years of experience with project management, campaign development, and new product launches.

Shay earned a BBA in Marketing and Information Technology from Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. She lives in Colorado and loves camping and skiing.

Kseniya Soukeras, Fund Finance Manager

Kseniya joined Osprey in 2021, bringing 10 years of financial services industry accounting and auditing experience. Prior to joining Osprey, she was a fund manager at Alter Domus. Before that, she served 8 years in public accounting as an auditor for private equity funds, venture capital, hedge funds, broker-dealers, and investment advisors.

Kseniya is a CPA — she earned her BBA in Accounting from Baruch College. She lives in Weston, Connecticut, and loves skiing and gardening.

Josh Brown

Joshua Brown is the CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, a New York City-based investment advisory firm. Josh is the author of the book Backstage Wall Street. Josh is also the founder of the popular blog The Reformed Broker.

Michael Komaransky

Michael is the founder of Grapefruit Trading, a crypto market maker firm. Prior, Michael served as Head of Trading at Cumberland, DRW’s digital-currency unit where he played a key role in building of the world’s leading liquidity providers in cryptoassets.

J. Parsons

J. Parsons has been a leader in the exchange traded product industry for over 20 years. Most recently, J. served as Global Head of Sales in the iShares business of Barclays Global Investors (BGI), where he played a key role in accelerating ETF distribution to financial advisors.
